Penguin Friendly Events

The City of Port Phillip and Port Phillip EcoCentre worked with 10 local community events to identify the key actions for a school or community event to reduce their litter and waste with the goal to being zero-waste. This project emotionally connected people to St Kilda's local colony of 1,300 Little Penguins and inspired participants to reduce harmful litter entanglements when rubbish reaches St Kilda breakwater by wind or rain.

Boon Wurrung Foundation Logo The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional owners of the land on which we are located. We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Elder members of our multicultural community.
