I admit it. Not everyone's heart beats fast at the thought of an Annual General Meeting, but my geekiness peaks when listening to our members, funders and Affiliates (re)connect about the remarkable, hope-filled work in our community - sharing challenges and solutions, anecdotes of action and invitations for transformation. Thanks to the record-breaking number of EcoCentre friends who attended!

This month also marks our 20th birthday and we're throwing a (non-AGM) party -- click below to let us know you're coming for our big, buzzing Community Enviro Fest on 7th December. Pass the month's wait meanwhile by snapping photos on your smartphone for our springtime NatureSpot challenge 16-22 November, be it in your backyard, carpark or by joining one of our facilitated surveys. City of Melbourne's similar study found four new-to-science species. How often do you get that potential in your volunteer work? Almost as exciting as an AGM.

Thanks, April

Alive Outside nestboxes
Discover the secrets of your backyard and meet other youth passionate about the environment on our free Alive Outside program, for youth aged 12-25 who live, work, study, or play in the City of Port Phillip. Alive Outside sessions are running after school in November. Join a litter clean-up, a nature walk, or become a wildlife rescuer and build insect hotels and nestboxes! Register here.
Multicultural Bay Ambassadors
It's your last chance to join us as a Multicultural Bay Ambassador this summer! We're calling for people from diverse cultural backgrounds to become ambassadors to champion new engagement projects aimed at culturally and linguistically-diverse (CALD) communities. The Multicultural Bay Ambassadors Program is a four month volunteer internship opportunity for emerging professionals interested in sustainability education and community engagement. Applications close 5 November. Apply here.
Calling all wildlife watchers! We’re gathering information about the plants and animals living in our City so that we can understand how to protect, enhance and enjoy them. The EcoCentre is partnering with City of Port Phillip to bring you NatureSpot, inviting residents of all ages to record nature where they live. Come along to a NatureSpot event from 16-22 November to learn from local amateur naturalists how to record data and contribute your own sightings.
Proudly supported by the City of Port Phillip, and co-funded through the Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, Caring for Our Local Environment grant program.
