What plants and animals live in our urban ecosystem? Learn what species live in your neighbourhood and how you can contribute observations to help the EcoCentre create a species dataset to protect and enhance urban biodiversity.

Last year, we recorded 21 species previously never recorded in Port Phillip, including some from private gardens! Snap a photo and contribute to citizen science from your backyard, balcony or during your daily walks.

NatureSpot Spring Survey is on from 21 September to 18 October. We will focus on the first two weeks as a sample for our data analysis, so log as many ‘spots’ as you can between 21 September and 4 October.

Get tips on nature observation and how to log a ‘spot’ on the NatureSpot map. Data collection boundary is limited to Macnamara (South of the Yarra River from Port Melbourne to Caulfiled East), but we welcome anyone to join in from nearby areas.

The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukit Willam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional custodians of the land on which we are located.

We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other First Nations and Elder members of our multicultural community.
