EcoCentre Seminar Series - Diving with the Kiwis amongst the Penguins
Matt's fascination with Antarctica reaches back to a childhood informed by Weet-Bix cards, stamps and currency highlighting Australia's connection with the frozen continent. That fascination prompted career choices in marine science that eventually garnered his first invitation south, as part of a University of Otago research team operating at Scott Base, New Zealand's permanent presence in Antarctica.
'Diving with the Kiwis among the Penguins' recounts the experiences and insights arising in a marine biologist operating under the sea ice around Ross Island.
This session is the first of a suite of digital seminars provided by the Port Phillip EcoCentre in Autumn and Winter, 2020.
The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional owners of the land on which we are located. We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Elder members of our multicultural community.
