The Arts are good mindfood and the key to cultural change. The Arts can engage people in the topic of sustainability and encourage a new generation of environmental activists.
We have various musicians and artists meet here in various groups. We also provide support for external efforts in this sphere.
Elwood Poetry prize 2013
Theme: Tide

The fourth annual Elwood Poetry Prize 2012 attracted the talents of local poets of all ages, drawing over twice as many entries as the inaugural year including over 200 from students.
The EcoCentre organises this popular competition in collaboration with Cr Jane Touzeau.
This year, student prizes will be presented at the Sustainable School Awards on Thursday 12th September at the City of Port Phillip Town Hall.
Community prizes will be announced at an afternoon poetry reading and light tea at the EcoCentre on Sunday 22nd September at 2pm.

Elwood Poetry Prize 2011
Entries are invited for the second annual Elwood Poetry Prize, on the theme of The Garden - be it memories of a childhood garden, inspiration from the St Kilda Botanic Garden, or immersion in a dream garden! Poets must be residents or students in City of Port Phillip, and may drop off entries at the EcoCentre by 19 August 2011. (See application form for full details.) Cash prizes of $100 will be awarded in each poem category, with additional prizes to be announced.
Student prizes will be awarded at our Sustainable Schools Awards & Harvest Festival on 6 September, and community selections will be announced at a Poetry Reading on Saturday 17 September at the EcoCentre.
