Garden Gossip
Today's Seasonal Activity is:
- Turning compost
- water tomatoe seeds in green house
- pick off all dead/yellow looking leaves off crops and give to worms first then compost
- Look around, obsorve and read the signs :))) Next week we work!
- shovel compost around citrus trees (5cm thick)-dont worry if dont get too
- Plant more seeds-dont worry if don't get too
- harvesting and
- cooking!
Come to a “Garden Gossip” every Sunday from 10am – about 2pm and you will be introduced to the GARDEN TEAM who will show you the ropes and share some skills. There is plenty of opportunity to get your hands dirty and “learning by doing” is how we do it here. Tasks are dependent on seasonal activities.
Anyone can get involved and we encourage new volunteers (no knowledge is necessary). Just turn up and see how it fits with you. But let us warn you, you will be heavily warmed by the garden team, you won't want to leave :)
As always, the challenge is to only use what is grown from the garden and donated to the EcoCentre from 'Pure Organics'!! But to be on the safe side, please bring your own lunch :) Otherwise you only need to bring a hat and sunscreen. We provide tools, gloves etc.
