This exciting day aims to unite our local community for a meaningful cause.  Join us for a family friendly day of rewarding fun and environmental action!

Kayaking is free and there is no need to register for this event unless you wish to participate in the river clean up using kayaks. To join us on the water, register via the button at the bottom of this page.

We’re planning a fantastic lineup of activities, including:

  • River Clean and Litter Audit: Grab a kayak and/or join our foot patrol along the rivers edge. (Please register below for this activity)
  • Fun Games: Join in on the excitement with entertaining games like the recycling relay race and other engaging activities throughout the day.
  • Container Deposit Scheme: Cash in on your litter haul and promote sustainable practices.
  • Stalls and Partners: Explore stalls from environmental organisations and partners, and discover ways to get involved in local conservation efforts.
  • Community BBQ: Refuel with delicious bites and connect with fellow eco-enthusiasts over a sizzling BBQ.
  • Launch of the 5-Year Lower Dandenong Creek Litter Action Plan: join us  as we unveil a comprehensive plan aimed at reducing litter in our waterways. The Action Plan, a result of collaboration between City of Kingston, City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey, Parks Victoria, and EPA Victoria, outlines short and long-term actions across various domains to drive a meaningful reduction in litter.

To join us on the water, bring your kayak or borrow one of ours and join us as we navigate the tranquil waters, collecting litter lodged in the reed beds to prevent it from reaching Port Phillip Bay. Please register if you wish to participate in the kayak activity.  We ask that you agree to our Terms and Conditions for Kayak usage and register via the button at the bottom of this page by selecting ‘Yes’ on our Paddle for Patterson Event Entry Application and Declaration. Not keen on getting out on the water? No problem! You’re welcome to join our foot patrol collecting litter along the river bank or get amongst one of our other exciting activities.

A community clean-up event organised by the Lower Dandenong Creek Litter Collaboration and the Port Phillip EcoCentre.
